I’ve been doing “this work” for over 25 years, and while I know what I do and how to do it, I was pretty clueless when it came to talking about what I do. The thought of trying to help my website designer create something that captured who I am was intimidating, but then she started to ask me questions...
Are you in the midst of a change that feels like this? A big mess? Where do I start? Where does it end? Meet Carol. Carol held high level IT positions for years. Her specialty was working with start-up companies. She loved the thrill of building something from scratch...
Those darn little spiders just keep spinning webs on my deck chairs, so I have to keep on cleaning them off. A couple of weeks ago, I was outside checking the chairs, when I found some of the webs on the seats. I thought I would quickly grab the hose...
It was Thursday morning and I glanced at my never ending to-do list and I saw 10 items in the WORK column and 15 in the PERSONAL column. I've had times when it's much longer than that. As a matter of fact, there were more things...
Seems to me that I spend a lot of time lately working with leaders to develop their inquiry skills. in Humble Inqury, Ed Schein, paints a convincing picture of the "tell culture" that we live in. I certainly see it in my work...and in my own life.

Since I am focused on NOTICING in 2017, I noticed a lyric yesterday in a song that I have heard at least 1000 times in my lifetime - maybe more. The song is Tin Man by America and here is what caught my attention.
For 10 days I have had that heavy, twisted, knotted, messed up feeling in my shoulders! Days of ice, Advil, stretching, massage, adjustments, praying, some crying ... what the heck? Tonight, I decided to stop fixing and chose to ask a simple question. What is sitting on my shoulders weighing me down?
Fifteen years ago, my husband, Mark, volunteered to help coach our 5-year old daughter’s first soccer team when the original coach quit.
