Giving Thanks

I am sure that I cannot add anything to what you have heard or read or thought about the upcoming holiday, so I will simply share a thought I heard last year. Thanksgiving is a NOUN, but Giving Thanks is a verb ... while the noun only comes once a year, we should bring the verb into our lives every day.

God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say “thank you?”" William Arthur Ward

“I find that the more willing I am to be grateful for the small things in life, the bigger stuff just seems to show up from unexpected sources, and I am constantly looking forward to each day with all the surprises that keep coming my way!” Louise L. Hay

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” William Arthur Ward

If we take this last quote as a metaphor, who do we want to give presents to this week? Maybe on Thanksgiving eve (with a piece of pie by our side), we could each make a list of everyone we want to say thank you to for any reason.  Then, beginning on Thanksgiving,  say thank you to as many people as we can before the end of the year. What a lovely challenge!

Let me begin by saying THANK YOU to you - for subscribing to my randomness and taking at least a few minutes to read a thought and focus on being a better you. The world is a better place because of that - I know it is!
